Our under 12 girls played St. Brendans for the first time on Sunday 13th November 2011 in an exciting match and our girls were delighted to get their winning goal and keep it to a win for Weston. Well done to all!!!

New Junior Training Times
Hi all,
I hope that you are all enjoying the summer break. This year I have come back in as Chairperson and wish to try and take the club to the next level in developing your children into great hockey players. We have being hard working over the past few weeks in developing a programme that will hopefully help us to achieve this as one.
I have been involved with the senior committee for the past few years and I feel that this will help me out alot in achieving the goals of the junior section. Great work has being done over the past few years by lots of different people involved whether it was on a committee level , administration , organising matches , coaching and everyone that has helped out on the friday nights/sunday mornings making the tea and coffee etc. We will hope that this will continue and as a club we can all move forward and get the most out of the great facilities and people that we have available to us.
A few dates for the diary :Registration for all juniors to take place on
Wednesday 24th of August at 7-9pm
Saturday 27th of August at 2-4pm
Fee's remain unchanged for the third year : 1st child €100
2nd child €90
3rd child €80
We hope to run an afternoon blitz for all kids on Saturday 3rd of September .A text will go out closer to the time to confirm this.

The Rory Cunningham Perpetual Cup
Weston Hockey Club Junior Section
Are pleased to announce that The Rory Cunningham Perpetual Cup will take place on Thursday 7th April at on our pitch,
This Cup is for Primary School Girls from 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th classes from the Local Schools in Lucan and Weston Hockey Club Junior Section.
The Cup and medals are sponsored by Cunningham Funeral Directors in honour of their late father, Rory, a founder member of Weston Hockey Senior Section nearly 64 years ago.
This is the first year to hold the competition and we are delighted to have
Starting at the final will be played at and presentation of Runners Up medals, Cup and Winners medals will be made by Michael Cunningham immediately after the final.
We look forward to a large turn out on the day and hope to see the teams well supported in our first Lucan Girls Junior Hockey Cup Competition. So come out and support your School or Team and make this a day to enjoy and remember for the first year of
U10 Boys Leinster Tournament Sunday 7th November
The Junior Section continues to thrive this season. The Boys section hosted an U10 Boys Leinster Tournament Sunday 7thNovember. With 11 clubs playing from Wicklow, Pembroke, TRR, Monkstown, Corinthians, Railway Union, Navan, YMCA, Suttonians and Glenanne, we had over 100 children and 60 parents attending on a cold Autumnal morning.
The Round robin tournament split into 2 groups was fast paced to keep the children energised and warm. Many new stars in the making were on show with the results of good coaching particularly evident in some clubs. Weston has its own share of talent and performed well. As the idea of teamwork develops these young teams will provide formidable competition for each other as they each grow into the sport.
With team photographs and the customary ‘sweetie’ bonanza at the end, the kids and their parents left with a positive impression of Weston Hockey. Keep it up Weston, particularly in Senior 1, we juniors need successful ‘role models’!
